Children get into partners. Partner 1 is the teacher and they point to the word, partner 2 sounds and blends the word. The 'teacher' listens out for mistakes and helps to correct. Then they swap over so that both children have read every word. Once complete, they put the sound buttons on.

Reading target bookmarks with a space to attach child’s photo. When children read 1:1 staff set the children their individual targets and write it on their bookmark so that they are aware of what they need to achieve.

Reading Groups Carousel Five groups/five activities.

4 in a Row game. Chn play with a partner. They both take a different coloured pencil or counter and take turns reading a word aloud. If they read it correctly colour or cover the circle. Whoever gets four in a row first, wins!
